Welcome back. This one, this is a fun stuff. This is a little bit of a heavier
topic. We're going to deal with looking at the beast.
Now there's actually a bit, it's kind of part of popular culture these days. I'm
hearing a lot of commentators actually talk about this and it's unfortunate that I
think there's been some misconceptions about who the beast is and what the beast is,
where the beast comes from, etc. So all the myths and the legends that this is
kind of get built up over time. We want to go into that a little bit more and
just look purely through the lens of scripture exactly what it says in the Bible.
What we can see are essentially the prerequisites that determine what is the beast.
We also want to go into covering off on a little bit. Dan and I actually had this
conversation a little while ago and we're talking about the Beast and the Antichrist
and I'll get Dan to go into more detail as to how that actually works,
the structure around that that we can see from Scripture because there's a lot of
confusion about that as well. We're seeing a lot of commentary on that, that just
doesn't line up with scripture.
So, yeah, as I mentioned before, we're just going to be looking at it through the
lens of what the Bible says. We don't necessarily actually want to,
in this podcast, actually say this is the beast, this is the Antichrist. We actually
just want to give you To look at that expect that actually speak about it and let
people go away and actually study it for themselves Let people go away and actually
look at What's being said in scripture and determine it for themselves because
there's nothing yeah You don't want to be spoon -fed you want to have your own
conviction about it and know exactly what it is And the thing is too that we don't
we don't have all the answers and so we're not gonna sit here and go Well, this
is exactly what it is and you believe us and that's how cults start. We're not
sitting here as the arbiters of truth. We just simply wanna put it into perspective
of scripture.
Do you wanna go straight into a scripture before we start off? You got something
else that you wanna add before we go? - I think just to set a bit of a
foundation. So what you were saying,
Isaac, we just want to deal with the facts. So, the first fact that you want to
deal with is, where does the beast come from? Like what book on this planet tells
us about the beast, the Antichrist, this lawless one, the man of sin, son of
perdition. What book tells us that? It's the Bible. So why would we go to other
books to reference this? Yes, The beast is in the Bible,
clearly written down. He's going to come upon this earth. He's going to have a time
on this earth of great power where he's basically going to control the world. That's
a very limited time, and we need to bear this in mind as we go right through
this. And the Bible tells us in many descriptions, in many books, it tells us he
will have three and a half years rule. And you think about that. You think about
three and a half years ago, we were just coming out of COVID. Like how fast has
that gone? So this guy, and it describes that he will control the world for three
and a half years, 42 months, 1 ,260 days. And in one place in Daniel 11,
it says that we 1 ,290 days. And Again, you say there's things we don't understand.
Why, Daniel, why did you quote 1260 and then 1290? Is there 30 days of something
we're meant to look into and understand? Talks about it being time's time and half
a time. So in short, it's a very short space of time. You look at the last three
and a half years of any of our lives, and it's very quick. So his rule upon this
earth will be over very, very quickly. We then need to look at again facts.
So you were saying before some people think there's the Antichrist and the beast.
No, the Scriptures tell us this person has several names and Jesus names him in
Matthew 24 and Mark 13 and he describes him as him as the abomination of
desolation, the abomination that makes desolate. So that is very,
very good, clear, what do you call it,
hint at scripture or evidence of scripture because this is supported by other
scripture. So this person is going to be the worst criminal the world's ever seen.
He's going to be the worst despot. He's going to commit the greatest act of
genocide. So we look at all of that, and then we look at those evidences,
and then we can start to ask ourselves the question, well, who can this be? Then
you start to mount all the evidence.
So Jesus and Daniel-- and Jesus said and quotes Daniel and says,
"Daniel quotes this person." Then Jesus,
then we read in other books, sorry, where Paul then quotes him in 2 Thessalonians
chapter two. And Paul calls him the lawless one, the man of sin, the son of
perdition, same person, same beast. Then we read in Revelation 13 it describes that
there are going to be two beasts rise on the earth and one gives power to the
other. So it talks about the beast which we're just describing who is the
antichrist, the lawless one, the son of perdition, the man of sin, all of that that
Jesus described, Daniel described, Paul describes. Then it talks about the false
prophet. So there are two beasts. One is all of the names that I've described
before so he's got I think about eight or ten titles. The false prophet's just got
one title and it's he's the false prophet or the second beast and the false
prophet.
So I suppose what we could do is As you said before,
we would like to present the evidence that we can see from Scripture. Then we would
like to say to people, look at the history, and John even said back in AD 8590,
he said, look, there are many antichrists in the world today, but there will be an
antichrist. So there were many antichrists back then. And people, an antichrist can
be against Christ or a replacement for Christ so that can be seen as a substitute
or someone that's going to save the world or whatever so there's two ways that we
can look at the antichrist. So what we want to do is just deal with the facts
first off the biblical facts the scriptural facts second off look at history who
could it have been through history. Can it be now? Can we see this in the world
now? Then we need to look at the political and the financial landscape through the
history of the world and our time. That will then start to give us evidence and
start to help us identify who the beast could be.
So let's read the first reference here that we've got in Revelation 13. We'll go
from there. Yeah, yeah. So we've got Revelations chapter 13, starting in verse one.
"And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore, then I saw a beast coming up
out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten
diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. And the beast which I saw like a
leopard, and his feet were those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a
lion, and the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. I saw
one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed, and the
whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast.
They worshipped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast,
and they worshipped the beast saying who is like the beast and who is able to wage
war with him. There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and
blasphemies, and authority to act for 42 months was given to him.
And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God to blaspheme his name and his
tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven. And it was also given to him to
make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority over every tribe and
people and tongue and nation was given to him. All who dwell on the earth will
worship him. Everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the
world in the book of life, the Lamb who has been slain.
Okay, so we start to sort of picked this apart and then we'll start to see a
building of evidence. So where the scriptures say here, the dragon gave him his
power, his throne and great authority.
And before that it describes, sorry I should have read it first, the beasts which
are always like a leopard, his feet were the feet of a bear and his mouth like
the mouth of a lion and the dragon gave him his great power and great authority,
we stop and ask, well, which countries do these animals or this representational
people groups do they represent? A lion, a bear, a dragon,
a leopard, you know, which country? So start to compile your own evidence.
Then you look down at the next verse. And I saw one of his heads as if it had
been mortally wounded, with a deadly wound and was healed. And all of the world
marveled and followed the beast. Which people groups does this prophecy apply to?
Either a past history or current history. So you look at what people group or what
group had sort of looked like they died, but they came back again.
What country looked like it had died and come back again. So we see with so many
countries, they were great empires and rose up to great heights, then were crushed
and never rose again. so if we looked at through the history of our world there's
probably not too many if any maybe not to say this is the beast because I believe
100 % it's not Israel Israel looked like it was done Christ finished no more all of
a sudden they're back in their own ocean they're back their own people and they're
because that was prophesied and told us what God would do he would restore his
people in Israel. So we look around and has there been a political system?
Has there been a people group that has been looked like they were wiped out and it
was done and finished and all of a sudden they're everywhere, infiltrating everything,
rising to great power? So you ask yourself, these are evidence that we look for.
And then we look down and He was given a mouth speaking great things and blessed
me and he was given authority to continue forty, forty two months. As I said
before, it's only going to be a short period of time.
So we don't have to get caught up in it and even though we're going to talk on
this subject because we've had all of these people come in with all of this stuff
that's what to be found in the Bible and the evidence just is not backed up with
anything that just plucked names out of the air and so it could be this one and
this one or they declare it is this one it's this man or this person or it's this
country where you go well there's no evidence to support that. Well there might only
be one thing one thing that it might hint at that being the case and it's not
actually not fulfilling all the... But then what we're asking people to do is if
you think that, look, we're not trying to put people down or anything like that. We
just say, look, consider these evidences, write this down and then think, oh,
could they be, is that possible? Do they represent the bearers? Their emblem the
bear? Is their emblem the dragon? Is they ask themselves these questions, you know?
Then you can say, "Oh, right, I can build a case on that." If none of it fits,
well, obviously, it's not the person you're thinking it is, you know? So if we just
have a look at,
we'll go and we'll have a look at Revelation 9 and 16.
What is some great evidence here in both of these is, And I think very telling
evidence is that if you think of a beast of a person or a monster,
who would you think of if you sat back and thought, "Oh, that person was just a
beast." They were a monster. I mean, the people that jumped to mind would be Adolf
Hitler, you know, Genghis Khan,
Idi Amin, Paul Pot, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse Tong.
So these people, through the history of our world, have killed maybe,
I think, up to, I think the maximum they killed was about 45 million people, of
their own people. So they're a monster, they're a beast. Let's look at the biblical
evidence that tells us what this beast will be and the genocide they will bring
about. So we'll start in, we've got Revelation 9 verse 14 and then we'll jump
across to Revelation 16 because it's essentially the follow on from this statement.
Revelation 9 in 14 it says, One saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet
release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates And so then in
you look in Revelation 16 skip over there and in verse 12
It says the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river the Euphrates and
its water was dried up So that the way would be prepared for the kings from the
east?
So that's just tying in so it's again some evidence. We look at firstly the Riviera
Fridays so the Riviera Fridays for the first time in the history of the world is
now being dried up because of all of the dams they're building along it you know
from right from see right down through Iraq, and they're drawing up the Riviera
Fridays, and the scriptures there prophesied that that would happen. So men could
never have imagined it, and it's never a river that's been like that. But that now
today, for the first time, has dried up. So it's to allow, it says here,
for the kings of the east to come down, cross the Riviera Fridays, to head for
Armageddon. So, that's a piece of evidence, we put that away.
Then it's worth, as I said before, we go back into Revelation 9 and start at verse
15, if we could, please. Yeah, sorry, we've kind of jumped ahead and come back, but
in relation to what you were saying about those dictatorial regimes and how many
people they've killed, et cetera, et cetera. This is in relation to the beast and
what it will actually undertake. So in verse 15, "And the four angels who had been
prepared "for the hour and day and month and year were released "so that they would
kill a third of mankind." - So we're now going to start to look at more evidence.
This beast, this antichrist, this abomination of desolation which is the best name
applicable to this, is going to kill one third of the world's population.
If that were to happen now today that would be over two and a half billion people.
The worst monster we've looked at before was 45 million. This is just the worst
person that's ever lived. So scripture clearly tells us that. Then we go on and
well I've written some notes here so well let's look at the next next verse there.
Yeah and then you can you can draw the the relation between the previous empires
and the size of their armies etc so the very next verse then says the number of
the armies of the horsemen was 200 million I heard the number of them.
So again, we look at evidence. So when John the Divine wrote the revelation and you
can look it all up yourself it's not hidden away. There were 200 million people on
the planet. That was the history of our world. In 1980 there were only 4 billion
people on the planet. So in 1980 we've gone from 4 billion to over 8 billion
people in like 40 years. So it could never have,
how could you raise an army of 200 million? You then think, okay, there's gonna be
an army of 200 million that are gonna kill a third of the world's population. Who
can raise an army of 200 billion? If we're living in the time of the beast right
now today, so you look at, and who could raise an army of 200 million? 200 200
million and you saw right I was another piece of evidence that we sit down and we
put on the table and we're building the evidence by using scripture first. Yeah so
like you've said even previously like during the World War II the Soviets had was a
12 million and I think the third Reich at any one point had a standing army
- Yeah, yeah. - Yeah, and so historically World War II, obviously, was the devastation
that that brought, and they still only had essentially one tenth,
or one twentieth of what will be raised. And having a thing about,
just as you're talking then, too, that it's most likely not just one nation that
will raise 200 million. You're looking at the actual scripture that talks about the
four different animals that essentially make the beast.
You need to bring all that into perspective as well. Like you said you've actually
got to put it all together. Yeah and one of the I guess one of the key indicators
that we've spoken about numerous times again is that the next scripture that you've
got here and it's actually that It's the very next verse again, so again following
on from what it's describing here is the actual colours of the nation.
And we'll go into that now. Verse 17.
It said, "And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on
them. The riders had breastplates the colour of fire and of hyacinth and of
brimstone and the heads of the horses like the heads of lions and out of their
mouths proceeded fire and smoke and brimstone.
So what that is telling us there so again you look at evidence and the colour of
this armed forces whether it's their army their navy their air force their main
colour will be red Second colour will be blue, third colour will be sulphur,
sulphur yellow, so again, another piece of evidence that says, look, where is this
armour going to come from, what people groups and that. So,
just what says there, like what you said before, when those armies were raised of
11 or 12 in people around the world. In the Second World War, the recorded deaths
were about 65 million, they say, of which of those 50 million were civilians.
So war is indiscriminate. It just doesn't kill soldiers.
It just kills nations and people. So again, when we look at what this beast is
going to do and is going to kill, you know, a third of the world's population,
it's going to be just horrible, just terrible.
Do you think we need to... We've got here in 18 and 19,
verses 18 and 19, what we believe is essentially a description of missiles.
Yeah. You want to cover off on that just kind of essentially just to,
some people I guess it kind of resolves the issue that, or the question or the
argument that Armageddon's been and gone and that this was something that was just a
vision and it's not for us to worry about etc. There's different theologies the
belief we're already in the thousand years etc blah blah blah.
So in verse 18 and 19 it says here,
"And a third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the
smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths. For the power of the
horses is in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents and
have heads with them, they do harm."
So if we think of a missile, whether it's nuclear or ballistic or whatever missile
is, and what it appears John saw here was,
and he talks about like a serpent, and it kills with its mouth and its What bit
of way of describing a missile this thing with the smoke coming out the back with
its head and its tail inflicting and killing so John the Divine in in 2085 AD or
95 AD is writing or not not 2091 AD actually 2091 - Oh,
sorry. - '91, '91. - '19 and '19, '09, one, sorry. Oh, sorry, '18,
'91. - We're good with numbers. (laughing) - Very good with numbers. - How does he
describe what we've only seen in the last 50, 60 years,
you know? It's quite amazing.
- Yeah, so that So that covers off some of the prophetic statements regarding
military. And you want to look at more of the political and the financial structures
that surround that as well. Do you want to point us in that direction and we'll go
there?
Well, if we-- and we'll actually go into more because,
and we'll talk about it in the next talk, Babylon and the mystery Babylon and the
great harlot and that sort of thing and we'll actually look at a lot more evidence
that helps us identify this beast and that, but if we look at now the political
landscape that is around our world and if you look at say the last
And many people have turned around and said, "Oh, it's America, and it's this, and
it's that," and whatever, and you've got to go, "Well, okay, yeah, I can see the
political system was basically controlled by America." The financial system certainly
was controlled by America around the world. But you can't have the beast who's
everything against God At the same time, being everything that's pushing God out
there to the world, which is what America did. So you can't have one and the
other, it's not, you know, they're one or the other, they're not.
And we look at how our political and our financial landscape is changing around the
world and who is gathering country after country, who's getting control of country
after country, who's getting control of the financial system and all that. Again,
these are evidence that you can look at and you can, again, come to your own
conclusions, look at it yourself, be alert, be aware, and then you'll form your own
opinion. As you said, we're not going to tell you. You sit down,
you look at the Bible first and the evidence in the Bible and look, it's in
Scripture everywhere and look up, you know, certain words and then they will direct
you to places in the Bible and it will give you the evidence in the Bible.
Then from that you can move into looking at the world and the evidence that's in
the world. Yeah so I'll actually put them, we'll make sure those scriptures end up
in the description as well for everyone to read because there's a lot here that we
haven't gone over, it's just a, again it's just a brief overview to try and help
people get into the perspective and the headspace of what the scriptures actually
saying. So there's a heap that we haven't even touched that are mainly the ones
that we reference are obviously Revelation, but Daniel is a great resource as well
that we haven't even touched today. So we'll make sure we get all those scriptures
in the description for everyone to read as well. So essentially from there trying to
understand the character and the description of what is the beast and the antichrist,
let's have a look at, You're wanting to now look at who is Christ so that we can
parallel the two and actually see the difference between the two and
Yeah, essentially just give people an understanding. I also wanted to um It ties in
a little bit to what you were saying earlier about You know, it's only three and a
half years. What's three and a half years? Anybody living through the Second World
War anybody living under any dictatorial regime historically that we've spoken about
here where they've killed 20 million of their own people in only a few short
decades. Three and a half years in that time would feel like a lifetime but
essentially what we're wanting to do is to put it into perspective. It is three and
a half years and it's horrendous what is what is prophesied in Scripture but and
again this is why we're wanting to to expound on the character of Christ and why
we spoke previously about who is God the Father and us being made in His image is
so that there's perspective and that these things are in context so that yes sure
we know when these things happen that they'll be three and a half years and
As you've just mentioned, two -thirds of us are going to lose our lives because of
that. But it's no reason to give up on what we know to be true and who we know
Jesus to be because it's only three and a half years in comparison to eternity. So
let's have a look now at the character of Jesus and how Christ himself parallels to
the Antichrist.
So we've looked at the beast or the Antichrist and he's got maybe eight, 10 titles,
as I said. You look at Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has 250 to 300 names and titles.
No one in the history of the world. No emperor, no king, no whatever.
Someone might have been the king of this and the prince of that and whatever.
He's Alexander the Great or Ivan the Conqueror or this one,
they had one or two titles, Jesus and every one of those 250 titles means
something, they have incredible significance. So that's just one aspect of Jesus
Christ and we'll look a lot more at a lot of the other aspects of the Lord as we
work through the the the podcast people we have again made a great mistake in
humanizing Jesus too much sure he was he's fully human fully divine but if you look
at the Savior of the world the Creator of the world the one that paid for the
sins of the world the the author of life and you look at this being and then you
take account of just one aspect we'll look at. So there are over 300 prophecies
about his first coming to this earth. There's no one, no political leader in the
world, no one that created any denomination, no one created any You you if someone
can find a prophecy about
Confucius Buddha Muhammad If I some Jesus has got hundreds and hundreds and hundreds
of prophecies. No, man. This is not a man We are not talking about just a man in
the Lord's week of his betrayal, death, burial, and resurrection.
He fulfilled 65 prophecies to the letter. You can go and you can read Psalm 22.
It's a complete description of crucifixion. It hadn't been invented for a thousand
years before Jesus was crucified on the cross. You can go into Isaiah,
the book of Isaiah and the book of Isaiah, 66 chapters,
nearly half of that book is about two things. The first and the second coming of
the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. He fulfilled every one of those prophecies to
the letter in his first coming. He will fulfill every one of those promises and
those prophecies to the letter in his second coming. So we have a unique,
this is, he's not, he's not man, he's not just a man that walked on the world.
Because he consented to do that for our sakes, to tabernacle in a body,
to save us from ourselves, we shouldn't think, as we said before,
That's him. No one's like him, not even remotely, not even tidily. As I said
before, if someone can find me a prophecy about any of these other religious leaders
anywhere in any book in the world, I'd love to see it. I've never heard about it.
And yet, the Koran talks about Jesus Christ and says he's born of a virgin birth.
He will come back to rule and reign and judge the earth. This is the Quran says
that So this is the being this is the being we need to get this picture of and
this understanding about and his majesty and his sovereignty Then we will start to
go These these things that are going to come though pale They'll go into their
rightful place this little person that's going to rise up and have control of the
world, that's got eight or so names that is going to rule for three and a half
years. It becomes very small. It's in its right place where God, the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit, they have their right for place. Pretty powerful stuff.
Alrighty. Thank you very much for joining us. We'll see you next time.
