The Death and Resurrection Of Our World

The Wrath of JESUS CHRIST splits the world in two. Episode 20 The Death and Resurrection of Our World

Tectonic Ministries Season 1 Episode 20

What happens when Jesus Christ returns — not as the Lamb, but as the Lion?
In Episode 20, we explore the apocalyptic events surrounding the Second Coming of Christ, where Scripture tells us His wrath shakes the heavens and splits the earth in two.

📖 Matthew 24:21–31 (NKJV)

“For then there will be great tribulation… the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light… Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven… and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

📖 Zechariah 14:4–5 (NKJV)

“And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives… and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two… Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with You.”

📖 Isaiah 24:19–20 (NKJV)

“The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open… it shall reel to and fro like a drunkard… and it will fall, and not rise again.”

📖 Revelation 16:18 (NKJV)

“And there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.”

This episode also breaks down:

  • The 7 Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls of Revelation
  • The prophetic sequence of Christ’s descent
  • The judgment of the nations and the call to overcome
  • Whether the Church will endure tribulation or be spared before wrath
  • Why being spiritually ready is more important than knowing the timeline

💬 “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” – Revelation 21:7

This is not just theology — it's a call to prepare your heart.
Will you stand when the world shakes? Will you be among the saints who rise to meet Him?

So there are some key scriptures, and as I said, if you've got your pen and paper,
let's look at those and get people to write them down and then look for themselves.
So Isaac maybe look at Matthew 24 yeah you'll have to forgive me I'm using the
Bible up on my phone because I left my Bible at home Matthew 24 we've got verses
21 to 31
for Then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not been seen since the
beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be;
and unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's
sake, those days will be shortened." Then if anyone says to you, "Look,
here is the Christ, or there! Do not believe it. For false Christ and false
prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even
the elect." "See, I have told you beforehand, therefore if they say to you,
'Look, here's in the desert,' do not go out, or look, here's in the inner rooms,
do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the
west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. "For wherever the carcass is,
there the eagles will be gathered together." And immediately after the tribulation of
those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light. The
stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then the sign
of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth
will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with
power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end
of heaven to the other."
So, yes, there's a similar account, or the same account as in Matthew 13,
19 to 27, Mark 13, 19 to 27, a little different,
but very similar, almost exactly the same, giving us the same timing of what's going
to happen, the Great Tribulation will happen. Jesus will descend to stop all flesh
being wiped out. He says if He doesn't come back, no flesh will be saved. So He's
got to shorten the days and stop us killing each other.
So we've got this picture of Jesus in heaven coming, bringing His saints with Him,
the saints in Christ on the earth, being caught up to meet Him in the air,
lightning from the east to the west, flashing, Him returning, coming to the earth,
stopping all wars, stopping man annihilating himself, stopping us, wiping ourselves
out, so that he can save flesh, he can have his bride. Then we'll look at what
happens next, according to Scripture. We read in Zechariah 14 verse 3 to 5.
"Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as he fights in the
day of battle. And in that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which
faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from
east to west, making a very large valley. Half of the mountain shall move forward
to the north, and half of it toward the south. Then you shall flee through my
mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as
you led from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah the king of Judah. Thus saith
the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with you.
Having looked at that when we get the picture and we look at the seventh seal
trumpet and bowl, which all fit nice and neatly together. We look at Isaiah,
what Isaiah tells us. We look at Scripture,
the rest of Zechariah 12 -14, and you can see how it all fits together.
So we're watching this descent of Christ is coming to earth, his feet hit the
ground, the world is split like the worst earthquake that's ever happened on the
planet. Isaiah then tells us about this. In Isaiah 24, 19, 20.
The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open, the earth is shaken
exceedingly, the earth shall reel to unfro like a drunkard, and shall totter like a
hut, its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will fall and not rise again.
So remember, we just read in Zechariah 14, what was the last words,
"As you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah, the king of Judah, thus
the Lord God will come and the saints with you." So this is describing the same
earthquake.
Then we look at, as I said before, Jay, maybe you could have a look at the seals,
the trumpets, the bowls, and see how that then fits into this. At Revelation 8 .5,
the seventh seal, then the angel took the sensor, filled it with fire from the
altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and
an earthquake. In Revelation 11 .19, the seventh trumpet,
then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant was seen
in his temple. There were lightnings, noises, thunderings, and earthquake, and great
hail. And in the seventh bowl of Revelation 16 verse 17 through 18 then the seventh
angel poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple of
heaven from the throne saying it is done. and there were noises and thunderings and
lightnings, and there was a great earthquake. Such a mighty and a great earthquake
as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
So we're seeing this account, right through Scripture,
of the picture of Jesus planting his feet on the earth, and which is the cover of
the book, the death and resurrection of our world. Jesus' foot planting, his feet
planted on the earth, the earth split in two.
We can't imagine this. We see now in modern days, we get to immediately see when a
great earthquake has happened and thousands of people are killed and we see tsunamis
and we see all of this stuff that we've never seen before because our modern time
now, we can see everything because it happens around the world. So, we can start to
imagine here what this is going to look like. And we go back to Isaiah again,
and we look at Isaiah 24, it's like this condensed version of what is going to
happen to our planet right up until Jesus comes back. It's this reader's digest
version of the intensity of what is going to happen. So it's worth reading Isaiah
24. We should continually read that. We should read Zechariah 12 to 14 as well,
because it gives the full picture part of what we've missed on this way through to
the Lord planting His feet on the earth and splitting
and again in this timing Jesus speaks a word and he consumes the armies of the
earth. It says all the nations have gathered and come against Israel. One of those
armies is 200 million people and it's very descriptive. If you read Zechariah 12 to
14 it talks about their eyes being consumed in the sockets and their their eyeballs
consumed in the sockets of their eyes, their tongues being consumed in their mouth,
their skin melting off their body. Now, until 1945, we could never have imagined
that. It's an army of one army. And then you've got all the other armies of the
earth gathered together. So as Jesus is descending, he speaks the word.
This plague comes upon these armies, all wiped out. That's why it talks about
gathering the eagles and the vultures to feed on the kings and the armies and the
people and it talks about in many other scriptures that they'll burn the weapons of
their warfare for seven years. It talks about the blood being up to the horses
bridle. It talks about this incredible time of Jesus stopping.
It's got to stop this conflict. He's got to stop us doing what we're doing to
ourselves. So we read here And Isaiah 24, 18 to 20,
if we could
read that again, it's just it's worth reading again.
Isaiah 24, 18 to 20, "And it shall be that he who flees from the noise of the
fear shall fall into the pit, and he who comes up from the midst of the pit shall
be caught in the snare. For the Knows from on high are open, and the foundations
of the earth are shaken. The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open,
the earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard,
and shall totter like a hut, its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will
fall and not rise again.
So I've sort of, I've sort of said what I've understood from Scripture of this
picture of the return of Christ, so starting from heaven, coming down, bringing His
armies with Him, bringing the saints with Him, the saints on earth, those that are
dead in Christ, being raised up to receive their new bodies, with or alive in
Christ, being raised up to see our new bodies, to receive our new bodies, Jesus is
coming back, all in this timing, coming back, speaks a word, all the arms of the
earth are destroyed, hits the earth, stands on the earth, the earth is split in
two. Like this is all what we see in the last Seal trumpet and bowl in Revelation.
So we're watching the pinnacle of all of the events in Revelation,
all coming to their point of the return of Christ. That's the way I've seen it,
and as I say, that's the sort of digest version of what you can see.
As I said before, there's many other scriptures that talk about it, you know,
the mass of death and burning of weapons of war and all that sort of thing, And
then there's different interpretations on that, whether that's his first coming or the
end of the thousand years in Ezekiel 38,
39, Gogan, May Gogan, and that sort of thing. So I mean,
there are different views. And actually, I wouldn't mind your view as well, Jay and
Isaac, as well, on what you see, the timing or maybe you see it a little different
to how I see it here. Just please, by all means just share what your thoughts on
what it could be or what it could look like. I'm presenting one picture of what it
could look like.
Well typically as I've understood scripture I was raised within the context of a pre
-tribulation rapture, and then the second coming being a separate distinct event.
So the Lord catches his bride away, they're in heaven for seven years,
and then he'll come back to establish his rule and reign on the earth for a
thousand years. Over time, my thinking is somewhat shifted to what Many would call a
pre -wrath rapture because, and again, I'm trying to be faithful to Scripture too
without belaboring it. I do think there's indication of the difficulties and the
suffering of the church that will go through, but that the Lord will catch His
bride away before that point, kind of of no return if that's a way to express it,
or when his judgment is poured out primarily on the wicked.
But again, I see the second coming, the rapture,
the saints being called up in the air, but Christ coming to the earth again to
rule and reign as a distinctive event. Having said that I know we're in a different
position there I'm I'm certainly open to continue considering the scriptures and
that's why I kind of prefaced all this because You know, I don't want to be any
kind of disagreement and I don't think we are brother. I mean it's We you know we
both love the Lord we love his word So interpretation may be different. But
ultimately, again, with the appearing of Christ,
I jokingly told you earlier, I heard somebody say one time when it says in
Revelation that there will be silence in heaven for a half hour, it's so all the
eschatologists can kind of pause and figure out what really did happen. And none of
that to diminish what you're saying, what Christ taught, what Scripture says I think
for me now practically because I'm not a theologian I'm a preacher primarily I think
where the rubber hits the road is this important yes you're right this is the most
important date that is on the horizon apart from what's already happen with Christ's
first advent but I think the lesson in this or the practical application we need to
be ready and if we're ready and by ready I mean with our trust in Jesus Christ
with with ongoing repentance keeping a short account of God at whether he comes
before the tribulation before the wrath after the tribulation,
we'll be ready to go. And in the meantime, I think, and Isaac and I were talking
about this, we were talking together,
as believers, we need to be ready to face whatever may be coming our way.
A lot of the context I've worked in ministry, as I know you have too,
Dan, is in the context of of Christians are being persecuted.
And you know, I think sometimes our religion,
our Christianity is kind of a happy -clappy, everything's good, everything's gonna be
good, so that when something comes, whether it's sickness,
whether it's loss, we begin to wonder is God really good? We begin to even question
sometimes our own salvation. What's wrong with me? What am I doing wrong that this
would come to me? And I think that whether Christ comes before,
mid, after, I do think that it is a lot of believers to have a measure of
suffering, even a measure of persecution. And I think that needs to be something
we're prepared for, and that preparation will carry us into whenever the Lord comes
back.
The book of Revelation is written for, it's a book for martyrs.
That's what it's all about. It's a manual for martyrs. So in that,
you know, look, I would love to believe in the pre -tribulation rapture, wouldn't it
be great. We get out of here, we don't have to go through this three and a half
years of the world's worst time it's ever seen. I mean, man, that's going to be
horrible. But I sort of stand from just the words of Jesus Christ, Matthew 24,
Mark 13. I have to stand on that, you know. And then I have to say, well, Jesus,
I believe you got it 100 % right. But the book of revelation is to overcome us so
no matter what look you've got to be prepared you can't just turn around and say
oh no we're out of here you know it's bad teaching it's bad theology to have that
mentality and have that thinking you need to say look like I just said well I'll
be great if it does but I need to be prepared to stand no a while, because if
not, what am I going to go through? If I'm going to have to go through everything
that Isaiah spoke about, Zechariah has written, you know, all of the prophets have
written about what John the Divine saw in Revelation, if I'm going to go through
that, I need to be prepared, I need to make sure my relationship with Jesus Christ
is rock solid, you know, standing on the rock, and I'm going to be able to
withstand. And if they kill me, they kill me. I mean, we've got to love Him more
than life. It's that simple. If we love Christ more than life, He will take us
through no matter what's happening. So I believe that that's the stand we've got to
make. I know you're saying the same thing, Jay, that we need to be absolutely just
trusting Him, depending on him or lying on him.
And we just might finish off then with a couple of scriptural-- - Yeah, yeah, I
just, but before we lose that thoughts, I read what you've got there. I think it,
yeah, just-- - Well, I just, I was looking for it, so I could give the citation,
but one of my favorite verses in Revelation and it came to mind as you're talking.
He who overcomes will inherit all things "and I will be his God,
and he will be my son." What a promise. And again,
the topic is the topic and timing and things, but for me,
as I wrestle through some of these things myself, those are the kinds of scriptures
that I rest in. He will be my God, and I will be his And it's already happened
through Christ, the beautiful doctrine of adoption, which sometimes is overlooked, that
we are sons of God, and one day we will be like Him because we will see Him as
He is.
Praise God. Yeah, I think we've got plenty more to go on with,
even without getting caught up in too much of to the minute of when things will
occur so let's let's leave that one there and we're gonna come back and jump
straight back into I've got a few things in mind that I think will kind of tidy
that up a little bit so thanks for joining us and we'll see you very soon
